6262-T9 -- the free-machining 6xxx aluminium alloy. Pb+Bi addition gives 2-3x faster machining than 6061 on automatic lathes. For high-volume screw-machine parts in 6xxx alloy where weldability is needed.
EN AW-6262 (AlMg1SiPbBi) per EN 573-3. T9: artificially aged after cold work. Pb (0.4-0.7%) + Bi (0.4-0.7%) gives excellent chip breaking on automatic lathes while retaining full 6061-class strength and weldability (unlike 2011 which cannot be welded). Rm 310 MPa T9.
