2014-T6 — Al-Cu-Si-Mg alloy with highest strength of 2xxx series at T6. Rm 480 MPa. For aircraft structural fittings, wheels and heavy-duty aerospace forgings.
EN AW-2014 (AlCu4SiMg) per EN 573-3. Si addition (0.50-1.2%) enables artificial aging to higher strength than 2024 at T6: Rm 480 MPa vs 485 for 2024-T3, but 2014-T6 gives better hardness (HB 135). Used for aircraft fuselage frames, wheel forgings and aerospace structural fittings requiring high compressive strength. AMS 4133 for forgings.
